The Blue Economy Youth Champions initiative marks a significant step toward involving young Timorese in the sustainable development of the country’s marine resources. By uniting passionate and skilled youth, this programme reflects the Government’s commitment to inclusive growth and intergenerational leadership in shaping Timor-Leste’s Blue Economy.

The Youth Champions include emerging marine scientists, dive professionals, conservationists, and technical experts from both public and private sectors. With their diverse backgrounds, they contribute meaningfully to national discussions on fisheries, marine conservation, and sustainable blue growth.

Supported by the Blue Economy Unit, the Youth Champions take part in regular workshops, capacity-building activities, and community engagement efforts.
