Dili dive sites offer great variety, diversity of marine life, and convenience of distance and access. With the majority of the sites suitable for snorkelers and beginners, these areas tend to be popular and well-frequented. Each site offers marine life sightings and underwater topography that would excite all levels of divers. Tasi Tolu, Roda Reef, and La Casa in particular are hugely popular with muck-diving and underwater photography enthusiasts due to the abundance and variety of macro critters such as nudibranchs, seahorses, shrimps, frogfish, crabs and more.
Dili Rock and Cristo Rei aras have coral cover begining from sections as shallow as 2 meters, making them very snorkeler-friendly. Just be weary of entries and exits at low tide as most sections are covered in rocks and corals, to avoid from getting cuts and abrasions as well as to not harm the living reef. Swimmers and snorkelers are advised to generally stay within the mid-sections of bays to avoid from getting caught in currents that sometimes tend to sweep around the outer corners.
